Why Choose Apex Court Academy For Tennis Lessons?

Tennis is more than a sport — it’s a healthy way to stay active while building skills that last a lifetime. Beyond the scoreboard, it develops physical fitness, mental focus, and lasting confidence. From serve to rally, it teaches you to think on your feet and move with purpose, and that’s exactly what our tennis classes are built around.

Tennis welcomes players of all ages, making it a great fit for kids, adults, families, and fitness-focused individuals alike. Whether you’re a total beginner or getting back into the game, our lessons are designed to meet your goals — whether that’s having fun, staying in shape, or leveling up your skills.

At Apex Court Academy, we believe tennis is more than learning to hit a ball — it’s about growth, on and off the court. That’s why we make every class meaningful and fun. Our team of expert coaches runs professional sessions right here in Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, and San Bruno, so quality coaching is always within reach.

Whether your child is picking up a racquet for the first time or refining advanced skills, our classes welcome every level, backed by well-maintained courts and a warm, supportive environment. Our certified coaches take the time to understand each student’s potential, offering personalized feedback and guidance every step of the way.

Junior Program

Junior Tennis Program — Ages 6–9

Program Overview

Our Junior Tennis Program keeps kids active and having fun while they learn the basics of tennis. Each week’s class mixes tennis drills, technical instruction, skill-based games, and athletic development. Coaches also add non-tennis sports and agility games to build coordination, teamwork, and overall athleticism.

We use orange balls, which are softer and bounce slower than a traditional yellow ball. This gives kids more time to react, making it a great environment for beginners.

Coaching Staff

Instruction is led by Eric Dennis and Lucas Rosenberg, who bring over 40 years of combined playing and coaching experience. They run Apex Court Academy, providing tennis lessons to all ages and levels across the peninsula.

Body

Physical Health Benefits of Tennis Classes

Boosted Cardiovascular Health

Tennis is exceptional for getting your heart pumping and building stamina. Regular practice improves blood circulation, supports heart health, and keeps you energetic.

Better Precision and Fluidity

High-intensity drills and match simulations train body and mind to act quickly and move with precision, sharpening reflexes and hand-eye coordination.

Stronger Core and Greater Flexibility

Each serve, sprint, and swing activates the core and stretches major muscle groups, building strength and flexibility while reducing the likelihood of strains and injuries.

Total-Body Fitness

From simple footwork to explosive strokes, every session engages all key muscles — a powerful combination of confidence building, stamina, and full-body movement.

Mind

Mental Health Benefits of Tennis Classes

Stress Relief & Mental Calm

Our dynamic, involving sessions keep players away from worries and help them release tension and channel energy positively, so they return home with peace of mind.

Enhanced Focus

Players learn new techniques and master strategies that strengthen mental clarity naturally. These transfer into academic and work performance, keeping them sharp and attentive in everyday situations.

Stronger Social Bonds

Tennis always gives opportunity for meaningful connections, whether in group classes or competitive matches. It fosters support, motivation, and mutual respect that make bonds last.

Mental Toughness

Setbacks teach strength and comebacks inspire courage. Facing pressure and strong opponents upgrades emotional strength and grit, shaping a mindset ready for any challenge.

Our Tennis Classes

Junior Tennis Classes

Our Junior Tennis Program grows with your child through age-appropriate, progressive learning. Orange Ball sessions build a strong foundation and court positioning using a smaller court and slower balls. As they advance, players move through upper levels with more technical skills, strategic thinking, and match play.

Adult Group Tennis Classes

Have a good time in a social setting while you up your game with optional scorekeeping. Professional instructors provide clear instruction, purposeful drills, and live play — entry-level fundamentals through intermediate and advanced strategy and matchplay refinement.

Private Tennis Lessons

Private tennis lessons are 100% customized to your skill level, goals, and learning speed. Each session focuses on technique, footwork, game intelligence, and mental toughness, with focused attention, real-time feedback, and structured progression from certified coaches.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Athletes

ok so i was not expecting to actually get hooked on tennis but here we are. lessons are well structured but never feel rigid, and Lucas is super flexible and works around your schedule as much as possible. you can tell he actually enjoys what he does and isn’t just going through the motions. courts are clean, atmosphere is chill. would recommend especially if you’re trying to get into tennis without it feeling like a whole thing.

My son (7yro) has taken tennis lessons at 3 different academies before finding Coach Lucas & we are finally happy! At other academies they tell you by words how to fix your form, but my son was still hitting it wrongly because it was hard to change with just verbal guidance. Coach Lucas is hands on with fixing how to properly hit, so my son learns the basic techniques correctly first, which we love! He’s also very friendly and makes the class fun, which keeps my son & his friends engaged. We highly recommend him 🙂

Aya Sato Google Review

I’m an adult returning to tennis after casually playing in my youth, and I decided to learn to do it correctly this time! I feel super lucky to have found Lucas to coach me, and I’ve made some decent progress in 3 months. More importantly, it’s been a positive and stress-reducing hobby — Lucas gives easy-to-digest tips and corrections that don’t feel like criticism. He keeps it light and fun but also ensures I’m making real progress. Highly recommend trying a class with him!
